SummerLINK Boston Prepares to Leave

SummerLINK Boston Prepares to Leave

Thanks for checking in on the SummerLINK Boston team. We are excited for the opportunity ahead of us this summer, and we wanted to let you guys know what we will be up to in the coming weeks, as well as ways you can be participating in our ministry through intentional prayer! Please check out the update below from one of our team members, Griffin Holloway, a former Boston SummerLINK participant.

“Greetings from Atlanta! Pretty soon I will not be able to say that as I will be departing for Boston on June 24th with 5 other team members to serve for 6 weeks! I cannot wait to get up there! I had the opportunity to do Summer Link Boston last year, and I loved it. God called me to move to Boston during that 6 week trip, and that is why I am going back again this summer. I won’t move until after I am done with school in 2018 but this is a good way to get my feet in the water.

The team last year got to help out with many different things like Soccer Nights (a soccer camp for kids in the community), Serve Medford (a massive, week-long community service project), and serving in government housing areas. All of those things were awesome, and God was definitely on the move! I cannot wait to see how God works again this summer as we do the some of the same types of things! Another key role that we will be apart of in Boston is helping out with Redemption Hill Church. Every Sunday?morning we will help set up and tear down all the things needed for worship, and we will be apart of the first impressions team and children’s ministry team. I cannot wait to see the relationships we will build with the people of R.H.C. and the people of Boston! It is going to be a great 6 weeks! June 24th cannot come fast enough. Looking forward to a great summah, GO SOX!”

We would greatly appreciate your prayers for our team. Here are ways you can pray for us as we prepare to go:

Pray for our team:?that we will be spiritually equipped for these next 6 weeks. Pray that we will continue to prepare well over these last few days.?Pray that we will be bold in our opportunities for evangelism.

Pray for the people of Boston and Medford: that the Lord would give them grace to hear and believe the gospel! (Only 2.5% of Medford residents attend?an evangelical church, so many of?the people we will come into contact with do not have a relationship with Jesus.)

Pray for Redemption Hill Church:?for the R.H.C. body, and there opportunities to minister to coworkers, neighbors, friends, etc. Pray that the staff will be able to faithfully follow up with the individuals we make contact with over the 6 weeks.

Finally, we ask you to join us with us in praying that God will be glorified by our team, in all that we say and do, and by the people of Boston! So we pray this with Paul:

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” -?Ephesians 3:20-21

Please check back in on us throughout the summer to see all that the Lord is doing and for more ways you can pray with us!

“It is not so much the case that God has a mission for his church in the world, as that God has a church for his mission in the world. Mission was not made for the church; the church was made for the mission – God’s mission.” ? ? ? ? – Christopher J.H. Wright
