Summer LINK Clemson: Rock the Block

Summer LINK Clemson: Rock the Block

By: Michaela McGovern

SummerLINK Clemson has been a rollercoaster of fun thus far. Coming from Massachussetts, I never expected the Lord to bring me here, but I?m so glad He did. One of the many highlights includes the opportunity to participate in the children?s ministry.

Being a part of the children?s ministry has included taking part in ?Rock the Block.? Rock the Block is basically a Vacation Bible School for children; but instead of bringing them to the church, we bring Rock the Block to their neighborhood. We have done two so far as a church, one in Central, SC and the other in Seneca, SC. I had the opportunity to volunteer at the one in Central and then have a bigger role at the one in Seneca.
Myself and the SummerLINK team have had the chance this week to be facilitators of Rock the Block Seneca. It has been so fun to teach these children and have fun with them. Each night, the children get to play games, have a snack, hear a bible story, sing songs, and make crafts. Along with these things, they all hear a gospel presentation and a personal testimony from one of the SummerLINKers. It is so important to share the gospel with children from a young age. Our prayer is that many repent of their sins and put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation!

It has been a joy to be serving at Crosspoint Church along with the rest of my team. So excited to see what God has in store for the rest of the summer!
