As we come to our final week, Summer LINK Boston is ending on a high note! We have just come off of a week full of fun, fellowship and service with Medford’s annual Soccer Nights week where we served everyday with members of the Medford community to bring families together around the joy of soccer, promoting athletic skill, leadership development and city wide unity around greater Boston. This was an opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and stories and show them the love of Christ and a welcoming church home for those who are looking for gospel-centered community.
We also were given the opportunity to plan and coordinate with three different missions teams coming from different parts of the country to maximize our daily outreach to the city. We spent the week engaging the community with charitable acts such as window washing, park clean up, coffee giveaways, and T giveaways while always being ready to share the gospel and invite people to church.
This week our team has decided not to slow down but to finish the summer with final outreach opportunities and coming together with Redemption Hill to celebrate what we’ve accomplished this summer with our desire to serve the Lord and to make an impact in Medford and greater Boston. We look forward to spending our last days in fellowship with dear friends and fellow believers that we’ve grown close to throughout this summer. We want to leave having held nothing back by proclaiming the gospel and spreading the love of Christ to everyone we can.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
