20 Jan GLINK Social–Gravatopia
The Crosspoint GLINK staff has the privilege of living, working, and worshipping together. Even so, we all enjoy those few times throughout the year when we get to kick back, relax, and socialize together. For this month’s social, we gathered at Chipotle in Greenville and then spent the next hour at Gravatopia. These times are so great because we get to socialize without the distractions of work and our to-do lists.
While Chipotle is always a win, Gravatopia was the surprise of the night! I?m not sure how to share what Gravatopia actually it but its basically a room whose floor is made of trampolines. There are specific areas dedicated to free falls, dunking, dodge ball, and doing crazy tricks into a foam pit. Punching bags hang from the ceiling taunting men and women to see if they can jump high enough to touch them. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical of the whole experience, especially when we arrived and the oldest person bouncing around besides us was 12. But after the second bounce (the first one made me fall face first), I was hooked. All of us were out of breath pretty quickly and breaks from jumping were often and, as the hour went on, long.
My desire that night was to successfully do a front flip. Sadly, many things distracted me from this goal: dodge ball and sliding down the sloped trampolines. Sliding became one of our favorite activities as we raced up the sloped trampolines and then slid down, sometimes making goofy poses or getting trampoline burn on are ankles.
All in all, it was a great night spending time as a GLINK staff and having fun.
