02 Jul Summer LINK Clemson: Serving and Growing in Christ!
We are half-way through SummerLINK Clemson! I can?t believe how quickly the last few weeks have passed! I?ve developed some awesome friendships over the last month and have enjoyed the opportunity to rub elbows with the staff of Crosspoint Church. Everyone has been so kind and encouraging and I am so impressed with the strictly Biblical grounding on which the church operates.
It has been such a privilege to serve this summer with the College and International ministries. Digging into the Word with these amazing groups of people has been great, and we?ve been having so much fun at our Wednesday evening socials (bowling, swimming, Frisbee).
Our first Wednesday night social
Last week the SummerLINK Clemson team served at Rock the Block Seneca. We all had such a great time pouring into the kids (great turn-out, by the way!). I had the opportunity to lead the kids during craft time. They were so enthusiastic and creative, and a joy to work with!
This week, we are focusing on evangelism and different cultural worldviews. A church member came in and gave a great lecture on evangelism and provided a clear picture of the elements that a Gospel message should contain, as well as how important it is to have some understanding of the culture/worldview of whomever you are engaging. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to learn more about this vitally important topic. After all, Jesus commands us: ?Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit? (Matthew 28:19, NIV).
I?m having a great time participating in SummerLINK Clemson, and I strongly encourage both undergrads and graduate students to join a SummerLINK mission next year. That being said, I?m excited to see what God has in store for us for the remainder of the summer!
